The official theme of "Jazz Plaza 40" is The Spirit of Jazz in Cuba, celebrating the impact and evolution of the genre on the island over four decades since the founding of the International Jazz Plaza Festival in 1980 by the legendary Bobby Carcassés. This year, the festival will be led by Roberto Fonseca, renowned producer, composer, arranger, musical director, and general artistic director, who promises to pay tribute to Cuba's rich jazz tradition and its global influence.
